Version 3.3.0 Release Notes

New Features

New reports: Three reports have been added, including two Users reports, Top Users by Category and Users By Search Queries, and one Policy and Content report, Warned Sites. For a description of each of report, see "Available Reports" in the Web Appliance documentation.
Top Bandwidth Users report shows results per destination: This report now provides a breakdown of the total bytes used for each internet destination.
Allowed Sites report shows bytes by site: The data table in this report has a new column, Site, which shows the name or IP address of each site visited.
Report Parameters: When selecting a report period to filter on, you can use the option buttons of the Report Parameters sidebar to select Today, Yesterday, or Last n TimePeriod. Or, as with previous versions, you can select Custom, and enter specific dates using the date selectors. Although the top 25 results are displayed by default, you can enter a higher number in the Display section of the Report Parameters sidebar to view a longer list of results.
Expanded drill-down capabilities in reports: Throughout the reports pages, there are additional linked results that you can click to view more specific or related information. For example, in the "Top Bandwidth By Users" report, you can click on the name of an internet destination. The Recent Activity Search: By Site page is displayed, showing a list of users. You can then click on an individual user to view URLs accessed by that user.
Exempting a report by category or domain: Select Reports > Options > Report Exemptions to access this page. Here, you can exempt selected report categories and specified domains from your report data. This is useful, for example, if you want suppress a certain type of data that is not relevant for your reporting purpose.
Managing search terms: Select Reports > Options > Search Terms to access this page. Use this page to specify keywords that are displayed in the Users By Search Queries report. Statistical data that is logged by the Web Appliance is used to report on instances of words and phrases entered as search terms.
Revised options for Recent Activity Search: On the Search Parameters sidebar, when selecting a search period to filter on, you can use the option buttons to select Today, Yesterday, or Last n TimePeriod. Or, as with previous versions, you can select Custom, and enter specific dates using the date selectors.

If you choose to search By User, you can now enter an internet location and Filter by site to return more precise results. You can use the Filter by status drop-down list to narrow the search according to how the appliance handled the search request. Two new entries, Warned and Proceeded, are available.

If you choose to search By Site, you can now enter a specific internet page instead of just a domain. As with the By User option, you can also Filter by status.

New tabs for Alerts and Monitoring: Tabs have been added for Syslog and Search Term Alerts on the Configuration > System > Alerts & Monitoring page. Use the Syslog tab to set the appliance to transfer web traffic logs to a Syslog server. Use the Search Term Alerts tab to specify who in your organization will be notified by email whenever a user's web query contains a term that has been included in the list of search terms.
